The late Emile Bussiere, longtime Manchester attorney who passed away last month, commented on his first case, the tyranny of billable hours and his role in the famous State v. Coolidge murder case in a videotaped interview. Brief excerpts are posted on YouTube.

The NH Lawyers Assistance Program, created by Supreme Court Rule in the summer of 2007, has issued its annual report for its first year. The number of inquiries has increased five-fold from the prior, all-volunteer system. About 55 percent of the callers indicated alcohol-related problems; the gender-ratio inquirers was 59 percent male to 41 percent female.
